Who did you idolize as a teenager? Did you go crazy for the Beetles? Ga-Ga over Duran Duran? In love with Justin Beiber? Did you think Elvis was the livin’ end?

When I read this prompt today. For the life of me can’t think of anyone I idolized as a teen. So, my muse, my sister told me about hers. I chose to go with her choice because she is my best friend and I highly respect her and her opinions. Plus, we had fun researching facts on them. I loved watching her eyes while she reimensed (sp) about years gone by. I am going to write this as a type of interview rather than write a bunch of facts on this band. Because I want you to feel her teenage experience and love of the band itself.

My sister’s choice is the band/actors THE MONKEE’S:  

1. The first time you seen or heard them what did you think?

It’s kind of funny but, my first thoughts were why are they talking funny? I liked them right away. I had never heard someone talk that way.

2. What are some of your favorite songs?

“Daydream believer” “I am a believer” are my top favorites. Along with the theme song for their show. It goes like this….hey hey were the MONKEE’S people say were monking around….I don’t remember the title though. LOL I told her the mind is the first thing to go! LOL!!! (To lazy to search all of their songs)!

3. Which band member was your favorite? And why?

Davey Jones for sure! He was the best singer and he was cute and short! (This made me laugh real hard because she is gay and always has been. Never ever had a boyfriend, played with dolls, or wore a dress).

4. Tell me the basics of the show?

It was a show where the boys would find pretty girls and they would follow the band around. I liked how they got all the pretty girls! (Ah haaaa now the truth comes out LOL)!!!

This assignment turned out to be fun. Maybe I couldn’t remember who my idols were but I got to learn more about my sister and thanks to Wikipedia more about the MONKEE’S!

I will post a link to the wikipedia site. If you want to know the MONKEE’S a little better. Before this post all I knew was a few songs and my sister had Davey Jones’s cuteness on our bedroom walls!

PS I now remember I liked Madonna, Def Lepoard, Quiet Riot, Motley Crew, Rick Springfield, Boy George, Whitesnake, Poison, Ozzy, Billy Ray Cirus, Guns N Roses, Billy Idol, and The boss Bruce Springsteen! Those are just a few. Did I idolize any of them NO! But, I blew some speakers and the neighbors didn’t care for me. LOL! Ah to be young again.

Great post idea! Didn’t like it at first but it was nice working with my sis on it!
